Underworld: Blood Wars (2016) Review

  • Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)
For a horror action with mediocre quality, surprising indeed could still see the Underworld franchise can still stay standing for over 13 years. It may then not be too surprising if you look the facts that, how the benefits the four series of Underworld. Its about  458 million dollars, from the budget of 177 million. Of course, This project is still promising to continue, as long as the demand is still high enough then the production will continue to exist.
From Awakening series, Blood Wars is still in the same grip, eternal enmity vampire and werewolf (lycan).  Selene (Kate Beckinsale) the Death Dealer formidable been the focus of the seizure of the two clans. She has been on the run from the vampire because she has killed Vampire’s leader and the second reason, She and hisr daughter, Eve have  a special quality of the blood that supposedly capable of giving extraordinary powers to anyone who drank it. Selene is not alone, now after the death of his beloved boyfriend  Michael , Selene with David, the son of Vampire leader (Theo James) tried to stop this war forever.

Perhaps , Consistency is the key why this franchise can still exist until now. The best part is still put up Kate Beckinsale as a Hero, even after 13 years Beckinsale still gives the same  charm when we first saw it in a sexy tight black latex. Yes, basically Blood Wars is still the same with other movies before, although it was changed the directors for three times (Now Anna Foerster). The bad news is the script that never really be fixed. Still suffering with all the complexities that seemed endless, The war between vampire and lycan repeated without a really strong motive except the eternal past revenge, although it since Awekening focus is shifted to the private Selene with all the romance and its evolution as a super vampire who later became the basis for the narrative Blood Wars.

It not like that there is nothing new here, it's just not something that is to be made Blood Wars into a series of more privileged than its predecessor, not by the presence of Tobias Menzies as the new commander of the lycan or Lara Pulver as Semira sneaky, including shock at the end of the story seemed very impressed too forced without giving sufficient explanation. As for the action, Blood Wars is still the same fascinated with its predecessor, although, I prefer a final scene of Awakening than this, but once again, the feud physical in Blood Wars are still on the stage entertaining, especially Beckinsale still look just as cool and bad ass his as they had done with all the physical charms and his vampire capabilities are outstanding.
